dcdiag error message

dcdiag error message

Starting test: FsmoCheck
Warning: DcGetDcName(GC_SERVER_REQUIRED) call failed, error 1355
A Global Catalog Server could not be located - All GC's are down.
Warning: DcGetDcName(PDC_REQUIRED) call failed, error 1355
A Primary Domain Controller could not be located.
The server holding the PDC role is down.
......................... naidomain failed test FsmoCheck

This all sounds DNS related.

Look for the GC entries on the DNS server. Under _msdcs

try to run netdiag/fix that will repopulate entries.

Probably should start with;

dcdiag /c /e /v

dcdiag /v /test:systemlog and see if it gives you more details on the
error.

dcdiag /fix

Is the correct DNS server being used?
